Editor’s Note
Lovely Readers,
Welcome back — or perhaps this is our first time meeting (in which case, welcome). I hope you are hanging in there amidst the chaos, and that you are finding moments of peace and rest each day, no matter how brief.
This is our fifth quarterly issue, and our sixth issue overall. In the summer of 2024, I began dreaming up the general idea of wildscape., which both feels like just yesterday and many years ago. In such a short time, this community has become a safe space for love, empathy, and expression. Together, we feel rage and grief, but we also feel connection and compassion. Together, we fight a world that is burning around us, in a space that feels unscathed. This space exists because of you. Thank you for being here.
As you read this issue, I ask that you give yourself grace as you work through the emotions that come up with each piece. Please, give yourself the time and space to absorb each poem, story, and artwork, and be gentle with yourself as you do. You are here, and you are loved, and together we will continue to fight and cling to what is whole. I love you.
With all the love in my heart,
Ophelia M.
