Title: The Only Way Out Is Through // Artist: Kim Arthurs

about the piece

This piece belongs to a collection entitled “In-Between,” an exhibition exploring memory and time. “The Only Way Out Is Through” is a mixed media Cyanotype, a historical photographic printing process that utilizes sunlight to contact print and water to develop. Using botanicals grown in the garden as well as items foraged from walks through nature, the artist preserves the memory of past blooms when the growing season concludes and winter returns, mirroring a period of self-reflection through the dark phase of the wheel.
