Title: Shadow and Spire // Artist: Rashan Speller
about the piece
| This work explores the relationship between identity, perception, and the forces that shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. Through photography and digital effects in Photoshop, I created a portrayal of a spiritual journey through life. I’m interested in the space where the personal becomes symbolic—where an image can hold memory, history, emotion, and something more difficult to name. “Shadow and Spire” explores the individual traversing the infinite possibilities that wisdom and imagination can have on the mind and body. The work invites the viewer to sit with the tension between what is immediately visible and what exists beneath the surface, while considering how our inner landscapes shape the way we move through the world. |
