Title: A Different Direction // Artist: Susan Schirl Smith

about the piece

I returned to my car parked atop a hospital garage after a challenging appointment. Looking out at the horizon over the edge of the garage wall, I spotted this weather vane. Had I not taken a breath, a moment to center, it is a view I would never have seen. The photo was altered to create reflection. My moment of reflection, taking an alternate view, this “Different Direction” provided a new perspective. Finding the beauty in the mundane.
