Title: Gladiolus B&W // Artist: Tinamarie Cox

about the piece

Last spring, I purchased Gladiolus bulbs, for the first time and from my local Dollar Tree. I honestly didn’t have any hope of them growing, much less blooming, but for the price, I figured, why not? They weren’t another plant I wasn’t losing much money on. To my surprise, every bulb grew and bloomed beautifully that summer! I was so in love with them and took a lot of photographs. The gladiolus flowers were difficult for me to capture. Some pieces stayed natural and others I filtered, such as this black-and-white photograph. This is the closest I’ll get to keeping one of those gorgeous flowers with me forever.
