Title: My Baby // Artist: Becky Krotts

about the piece

This image was created using paint made from natural ingredients – charcoal from our fire-pit which warmed us in the evenings as we looked at stars – dirt from hikes collected in small glass jars – rocks from my Mom, kept in zip lock bags and passed to me when she returned from vacation – rocks picked up by my children’s hands in creeks and handed to me with an explanation of “here are some rocks for you to smash Mommy.” Each one was held to my chest as I closed my eyes and said “Thank you God for this beauty all around.”
